Symbiosis

The "living together" of 2 or more organisms. Symbiosis in the broad sense refers to any mutual living arrangement, while in the narrow sense, it refers to a relationship which is beneficial to both parties.

Symbioses are very common in all environments, and were the origin of organelles in eucaryotic cells. The partners that form symbioses are termed symbionts.
