Genus Labidodemas

The genus Labidodemas contains small to medium-sized sea cucumbers with a soft and leathery body, a smooth tegument with tube feet along ambulacra, 20 tentacles, and a ribbon-like calcareous ring.

Remarks: In addition to the species Labidodemas semperianum (Labidodemas semperianum[/l]) described in this program, a second [l][m]Glossary[/m][r]Species[/r]species, L. rugosum (Ludwig, 1874), is yellow, small and warty with spinose tables of moderate spire height. It has been recorded from the Torres Strait.
