C. acicula is an orange, brown or black, small (80-100 mm), short sea cucumber covered with tube feet. Its tentacles are brown speckled with white [see Clark (1921) pl. 19, fig. 2 (colour)]. Spicules are short, smooth, sharp rods (C. acicula spicules[/l]). It can be found on [l][m]Glossary[/m][r]Reef[/r]reefs, below rocks.
