C. rigida is a red or pink, somewhat translucent sea cucumber with white speckles made up of the spicule clusters. It is a small species (ca. 50 mm), with 12 white tentacles. The spicules are characteristic wheels (C. rigida spicules[/l]), sigmoid bodies are lacking. C. rigida is found on [l][m]Glossary[/m][r]Reef[/r]reefs and in coastal areas, below sand and under rocks.
