Trochodota maculata

Clark, 1921

T. maculata is a pale pink sea cucumber, spotted with darker pink. It is small (26 mm), with 10 tentacles. Its spicules are wheels in which the inner serrations are grouped; sigmoid bodies are present. It is found in sand, reefs and coastal waters. A related temperate species, T. shepardi, is illustrated in Rowe (1982) [see fig. 32 - 5 (colour)].
