Leptosynapta dyscrita

Clark, 1938

L. dyscrita is a translucent white, small and worm-like sea cucumber (size < 60 mm). Its spicules are anchors and plates, but with small miliary granules and rods in the longitudinal muscles and tentacles. L. dyscrita is found in sandy mud, western Australia.

Remarks: Although Clark erected the species L. dyscrita and L. latipatina he acknowledged they were very like L. dolabrifera, a common intertidal species from temperate Australia [(see Rowe, 1982; fig. 32-4 (colour)].
