Holothuria modesta

H. (Stauropora) modesta is a grey sea cucumber, variegated with shades of brown, purple and white. Its tentacles are short and pale. It is a small (adults - 100-125 mm), cylindrical, pliable species without papillae. Spicules are tables with a smooth, flat disc and a characteristic cruciform hole (H. modesta spicules[/l]); there are no buttons.
