H. (Theelothuria) notabilis is a dark brown sea cucumber with light papillae. It is a medium-sized species, firm, with firm papillae and a rough tegument. Spicules are irregular, tables or normal with a spiny disc, small concave plates with perforations, and irregular, knobbed buttons, with 3 or more pairs of holes (H. notabilis spicules[/l]).
