H. (Lessonothuria) pardalis is a mottled light brown-grey and white sea cucumber, sometimes with dark spots along upper surface. It is cylindrical and tapering at its ends. It is a small species (< 100 mm), with a smooth tegument, and a thin and pliable body. Spicules are clumsy tables with a low to moderate spire and a spiny disc, and buttons, usually irregular (H. pardalis spicules[/l], [l]h_pardalis_spicules_2.jpgH. pardalis spicules 2[/l]). H. paradalis is found on [l][m]Glossary[/m][r]Reef[/r]reefs and coastal areas. It occurs below rocks on reef flats, and on rocky shores and in sea-grass areas.
