Staurothyone distincta

S. distincta is a grey-brown, cyclindrical sea cucumber that does not taper at the ends. It is a small species (size 25-40 mm (2 specimens)), with numerous yellow-brown tube feet which are denser below. Spicules are distinctive, even cruciform plates, minute rosettes and rods (S. distincta spicules[/l], [l]s_distincta_spicules_2.jpgS. distincta spicules 2[/l]).
