Paracaudina australis

P. australis is a white sea cucumber with a pink cast. It is a small to medium (70-125 mm), cylindrical species with a tapering with a caudal appendage. The body is thin and soft and the tegument smooth. Spicules are irregular perforated plates (P. australis spicules 2[/l]). It is a [l][m]Glossary[/m][r]Coast[/r]coastal species, found buried in soft intertidal sediments.

Remarks: P. australis is known from both tropical and temperate Australia. P. chiliensis is wide spread in the Pacific and according to Clark (1938) in Australia it is P. chilinensis ransonetti.
